____War And Peace___

Feeling a bit political. Or just making no sense at all. However you want to interpret it.

The delays on the guitar were getting longer and louder with each tune so today it’s turned off totally. Just plain old guitar playing. The drums were played on a track my GymRattz partner. Robert, and I did for fun a few days ago. I took the time to quantise them. And Robert cut them up to his own taste. So I was dreaming of using them in their raw format. Inspiration comes from strange egoed out places dunnit? The files are being uploaded even now. The songs are in the ‘listening station”.

War And Peace

I like to work so we can rest
I scrimp and save so we can spend
I have to fight to keep things calm
I’ll start a war cause I love peace

I’ll say a lot of things today
I only want to do what’s right
Our only enemy is time
Cause I don’t wanna talk or think things through
Cause you might change my mind

The world is on fire but I’m OK
It all burned down but I got away
There’s nothing left but we came out on top today

I’m looking for someplace to go
Maybe see some faces we know
I’ll make the rules and they’ll go along
I’ll keep ‘em around if they can stay in line
Or toss ‘em if they say I’m wrong

The world is on fire but I’m OK
It all burned down but I got away
There’s nothing left but we came out on top today

I’m waiting for justice
To see things my way my way my way
The goal of war is peace
The goal of war is peace
The goal of war is peace
The goal of war is peace

The world is on fire but I’m OK
It all burned down but I got away
The world is on fire but I’m OK
It’s all burned down but I got away
There’s nothing left but we came out on top
There’s nothing left but we came out on top today

The goal of war is peace
The goal of war is peace
The goal of war is peace
The goal of war is peace

Samick, Yay!

This is a shout out to Samick guitars. It feels very good to be endorsed by them because I truly love my Royale. All the tunes so far and foreseeable future feature the Royale guitar and bass as the sole stringed noisemakers. If this feels like an ad my writing must be off ’cause it’s a heartful appreciation.

Laptop Sunday

After spending the whole weekend bumbling through html the song pages are working. Listen. Buy mp3s. Download a drum track for your next song. It’s inside the “listening station”.

This didn’t seem like such a time consuming project at the onset. ; – ) But today there’s still a little time to work on the next song. The chorus is starting to percolate. It’s off to the studio right after I dye my hair.

WordPress & Wednesday’s Song

PonderingMoved the site from blogger. Hoping to be offering downloads – that’s the reason for the change. Following in the footsteps of Jonathan Coulton. He’s surely inspired more than just me to post weekly songs. Love to hear about others.

Already have next week’s drum track. No idea about the music or song to go on top of it. Totally fun to wing it.Want to be bright and cheery like Cheap Trick, but the track is moody like Joy Division.

226.8

goal=228
me=226.8

This is as little as I’ve weighed lately so from here on out it’ll be real . Not just skipping a soda before weigh-in.

, the Bio is pretty cool for the 150 pages I’ve squeezed in. It’s a gas reading about these guys that are before even my time. Their rock is full of passion. They did it without the Marshall amp. A lot of the early gigs happen in my hometown, . Jackson has it’s place in rock’s history after all. Even a nearby early gig where Carl met .

____She Walks In Beauty____

Kind of close to the deadline. Whew. I’ve set a poem by to song. It’s one of his most popular poems and one of my favorites. Since his work is in the public domain that should fit nicely with this whole creative commons kind of thing. The drums were one take! Have to admit the drumming is turning out to be something fun for me.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY

, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that ‘s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow’d to that tender light 5
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair’d the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face; 10
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow, 15
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Bowie rules!

Another allnighter last night. My fault though. I was blocked trying to come up with a knockoff for a movie trailer. I love the challenge but man I was blocking on that one. It’s probably cause Bowie is a real rock god and his music is iconic. I pale next to .

That means I’ve got to do a whole WS tomorrow. It’s written. But not recorded. Stay tuned.

Also trying to learn how to promote the blog. Being busy keeps the learning slow.

Hey Producers

My buddy Curt from Delirium Records came up with the idea of posting split tracks on the web. That means with every new tune there would also be a solo track for drums, vocals, bass and guitar. Since this is a creative commons license you guys could the vocal, use the drums on a completely different song, or use the guitar or bass tracks as part of your production. Give me proper credit and all’s good. If you’re using a traditional publishing paradigm add me as a songwriter. My publishing entity is Lavish Music BMI. Contact me and we’ll figure out a totally reasonable split. It’s just an assumption that this is going to catch on, but I look forward to hearing our music. It’s going to be up within about a week.
